Holiday programs


The school holidays are here again, and our holiday program is back at RSPCA Burwood East!

We are so excited to welcome you back on site at RSPCA Burwood East these school holidays! Can’t make it onsite? Don’t worry, we’ve got some virtual sessions running too!

Come along and meet our friendly farm animals and playful pets. Think horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, rabbits and our ever-entertaining guinea pigs!

We’ve also got special animal expert guests live in the sessions.

Tuesday 6th April, 10:30am – 11:30am (VIRTUAL via ZOOM)

Guinea Pig Adventures and Bunny BFFs – Go behind the scenes and get up close with our smallest superstars. Find out how to impress your pet with homemade toys and critter care tips.

Best suited for ages 5 – 12 years.

 

Wednesday 7th April, 9.30am – 3.00pm (FACE TO FACE)

I speak dog - Always wanted to learn the language of dogs? We will help you decode the body language of dogs and build better fur-endships.

Must be aged between 7 – 12 years.   

 

Thursday 8th April, 10:30am – 11:30am (VIRTUAL via ZOOM)

Paddock Preview - Have you ever seen a cow jump for joy? Audrey one of our education cows is so excited about toys that she bounces up and down like a puppy. 

Best suited for ages 5 – 12 years.

 

Friday 9th April, 9:30am – 3.00pm (FACE TO FACE)

Welcome back to the barn - Did you know that some sheep wag their tails? Our farm animals are looking forward to finally meeting you face to face and snout to hand!  The most exciting part of their week is snack time with visitors.

Must be aged between 7 – 12 years.   

 

Monday 12th April, 9.30am – 3.00pm (FACE TO FACE)

Wacky Whiskers - Get ready for some feline fun! Our education cats Archie, Wanda and Alfie love to show off as they run around their safe play space. Let’s make toys to keep cats busy not bored. Are cats the only creatures with whiskers?

Must be aged between 7 – 12 years.   

 

Tuesday 13th April, 10:30am – 11:30am (VIRTUAL via ZOOM)

Adoptions Action - Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, poultry, horses, sheep and goats can all find new homes through RSPCA Victoria adoption. Find out what’s involved in preparing animals to find their pawfect match.

Best suited for ages 5 – 12 years.

 

Wednesday 14th April, 9.30am – 3.00pm (FACE TO FACE)

RSPCA Vet Rescue - Calling all aspiring vets and vet nurses. Get your questions ready for our RSPCA Victoria Vet, learn pet first aid techniques and how to respond in an animal emergency.

Must be aged between 7 – 12 years.    

 

Thursday 15th April, 10:30am – 11:30am (VIRTUAL via ZOOM)

The secret life of hens - There’s no need for reality television when all the drama happens right here in the RSPCA Victoria Hen House! Will David Beakham successfully protect his flock and will anyone notice Henifer Aniston’s new look?

Best suited for ages 5 – 12 years.

 

Friday 16th April, 9.30am – 3.00pm (FACE TO FACE)

Junior Inspector for a day - RSPCA Victoria’s Inspectors are just like animal police. They investigate more than 10,000 cases of animal cruelty and neglect each year. Join us to learn about this brave role from a real-life inspector.

Must be aged between 10 – 14 years (some sensitive content).
