Hi there, my name is Star and
if you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an expression of interest form and a RSPCA staff member will contact you as soon as possible.
Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have this wish I wish tonight.
I am a beautiful young TB mare wishing for a human to call my very own. I absolutely adore attention, I'm a little bit demanding and love to have all eyes on me, so if you've got plenty of time on your hands to spend showering me with love and scratches, I'm your woman.
My last race was in 2015 but I don't think I've had any ridden work or education after coming off the track. When I arrived at the RSPCA in early 2017 I was emaciated so it was obvious I had some sort of hip injury. It looked like one of my hip bones was completely missing. The vet said it is likely i have fractured my hip at some point which may have been the reason my racing career ended.
I am completely sound in the paddock and don't show any signs of problems with my hip, but if you were looking at me from a ridden prospect I would best be suit to light pleasure riding rather than hard work. Now that I am at a good weight you can't even tell I have this old injury.
If you are not wanting a ridden horse but an amazingly affectionate, beautiful and entertaining young girl as a pet or companion for your current horse, I'd be pretty happy with that as well!
I might not be winning prize money anymore but I sure am winning hearts, come and meet me and see for yourself.
I am not desexed.
