Become a Volunteer

Welcome to the RSPCA Victoria Volunteer Program!

Volunteers are an integral part of the RSPCA Victoria and have provided vital support throughout the RSPCA’s long and proud history.

If you are looking to gain valuable experience to help get started in your career, develop new skills, meet new people, be an active part of the animal welfare cause or add a new facet to your life – volunteering at the RSPCA could be a great move for you.

Reliability, commitment, belief in animal welfare and being aged 15 years or over are essential.

What volunteer roles do you have?

We have a range of volunteer opportunities available including roles working directly with animals. To work directly with our animals, professional experience and/or qualifications are not required (however this is of course useful in some roles). Experience with family pets or in another animal related area is essential. The ability to commit to a regular weekly or fortnightly 4 hour shift for a minimum of 6 months is required.

Some of our regions also have a number of roles that do not involve handling animals such as administration, op shop assistant, getting involved in events etc.
