Pet Dog 'Manners Classes'

RSPCA Services | RSPCA Pet Dog Manners Classes Every dog can learn new tricks and this course is offered to anyone who is looking to begin training with their dog.

A basic dog training class designed for (sociable) dogs 5 months or older. This course covers such things as how you can teach your dog some valuable basic behaviours using positive reinforcement training methods.

Enhance your bond with your dog whilst teaching them some basic good manners, in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Dogs adopted through RSPCA are eligible for a discount on 'Pet Dog Manners classes' if enrolled within 4 weeks of adoption

Topics covered:

Dog body language and how dogs learn
Jumping up
Basic obedience (sit, look, come, stay, drop, leave etc)
Going through doors
Food bowl manners
Mat training
Managing your dog with distractions
Massage and handling
Beneficial games that you can play with your dog
Responsibilities of dog ownership

Please note: Anyone considering this course will need to book in for a one-on-one assessment, prior to the commencement of the course (Cost $30).

Duration

One hour per week
eight consecutive weeks.

Requirement

Dogs must be over five months of age. Vaccinations must be current prior to commencement

Cost

$135 for all ex RSPCA dogs if booked within four weeks of adoption.

$150 for all other dogs.
