Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL)
"Working with Animals"

VCAL presentations engage students with real life animal cruelty cases and examples of the work of the RSPCA shelter and inspectorate. We explain why the RSPCA needs to exist and the role of volunteers in supporting a community based, animal welfare organisation. Other topics include pathways for a career with animals and the importance of work based skills such as communication and OH&S.

An RSPCA experience supports the aims of the Personal Development Skills strand including the development of  civic responsibilty through volunteering and working for the benefit of others. Pre and post visit Literacy and Numeracy activities are available.
