Discounted Cat Desexing Program
In spite of numerous responsible pet ownership education programs, desexing voucher schemes and cheaper council registration charges, the number of cats euthanased continues to increase with each year. As part of our effort to reduce the thousands of kittens left at our shelters every year, the RSPCA Veterinary Clinics at Burwood and Pearcedale are offering discounted desexing of cats from 1 July to 31 August, 2008. The cost of desexing your cat during this time will be at the cheaper kitten rate and will result in significant savings of $70 for your female cat and $30 for your male cat. The total prices are:
Desexing has many benefits to both you and your cat. For female cats, it is the prevention of unwanted pregnancies with the associated problem of finding proper homes for the kittens. There are also additional health benefits as a result of desexing your female cat and reducing the stress on your un-desexed female cat and your family. Male cats should be desexed to prevent fighting, unwanted litters and wandering. Other undesirable habits such as spraying urine to mark territory are also removed after the cat has been desexed.
