RSPCA For All Creatures Great and Small

Pet Adoption

The RSPCA Shelters have an extensive adoption program for pets including puppies, kittens, dogs, cats,
rabbits and guinea pigs.

We are looking for permanent, responsible homes for the animals at our shelter. Thousands of animals die each year because irresponsible owners neglect their pets, let their pets' breed, or just decide they no longer want their animals. Please consider the time and money required in owning a pet. Owning a pet is a lifetime commitment!

To ensure that the animals we are re-homing will have a safe and secure future we have specific adoption policies, please read carefully:

You must be 18 years of age or older to adopt an animal.
All animals leaving the shelter must be de-sexed.
All animals receive a free health examination on leaving the RSPCA. If, you find a medical problem we did
not detect or if one develops during the first two weeks you have the animal, we will treat this medical
problem at our clinic, free of charge. If the Society determines that treatment is not a viable solution, may
either choose another animal or be provided with a full refund.
While we hope your pet selection process is successful and permanent, we do offer a fourteen-day period
to ascertain acknowledged behavioural abnormalities during which time depending on the problem a
refund is available. During this period you may surrender the pet for any reason and no charge will be
         made for the surrender.
No cash refunds will be given.
If, at any time, you can no longer care for your pet and cannot find a suitable home, you should return the pet
to the one of the RSPCA Shelters or another shelter. A surrender fee would be applicable in this instance.
The RSPCA reserves the right to refuse any adoption when it is felt the adoption is inappropriate in the
         circumstances.
