"Are you from out of town?"
If you are thinking of visiting one our regional shelters to adopt an animal, please make sure you contact the shelter first to make sure that the animal is either ready for adoption or hasn't already been adopted. If you currently have a dog and are looki
ng for a second, it's a great idea to bring them along to make sure that they can meet your new dog. With a high turnover of adoption animals, the animal you like online may not be available once you get to the shelter. To save you a trip, please call us first!

Please note: Most of the animals available for adoption will be desexed and microchipped after adoption, so a second trip will be required to collect your adopted pet.

Name:   Jenny (Male rabbit) Colour:   Black
Case No:    620698 Age:   2 Years
Breed:   Dwarf Lop X Sex:   Male
Size:   Small

Jenny would also love supervised times in the garden for exercise, or even a walk on a rabbit harness.

He would benefit from going to a dog club to train and socialise with other dogs and people and Shepherds do enjoy any of the dog sports such as agility, obedience, tracking or herding. If left home alone he would require a large backyard with high fences and lots of enviromental enrichment to keep him safe and happy.

Name:     Colour:   Tri
Case No:    620856 Age:   3 Years
Breed:   Jack Russel terrier X Sex:   Male
Grooming:   Low Size:   Small
Exercise:

  Medium Training:

  Medium
  Description:

Jack Russells are great for someone who wants and active little dog. They were originally bred to hunt small animals, and are sometimes not so good around cats, and can be a little nippy with children. Jack Russells acan also be very good diggers. Without adequate exercise, environmental enrichment and interaction with others of their 'pack' (i.e their new family), they can become bored easily and may start to dig up the backyard or dig out of their yard and escape. This young man would benefit from some obedience training and socialisation with other dogs and people. In his new home he will need a little bit of toilet training to help him settle in. When home a lone a secure yard will be a must to keep him safe.

  Medium
  Description:

Kelpies are an energetic working breed and even though this boy is older, he will still require regular daily walks to keep him fit and happy. Kelpies do enjoy having something to do (or they get bored) and this boy would enjoy going to a dog club to train and socialise. He may need some training to help him fit into his new life and if left home alone he would require a large backyard with high fences and lots of enviromental enrichment to keep him safe and occupied.

Name:     Colour:   Brindle
Case No:    621965 Age:   11 Months
Breed:   Bull Arab Sex:   Male
Grooming:   Low Size:   Large
Exercise:

  Medium Training:

  High
  Description:

Rocky is a boisterous young man that needs and owner, who has had similar large breed of dog before, that will be dedicated in training him and socialising him with other dogs and people. Rocky has not lived with, and according to his previous owners not socialised with any other animals at all. Rockys new owners need to be prepared to start socialising him straight away. Bull Arabs are a mixture of breeds deliberately bred for hunting, thus they have a high prey drive and when not socialised with other animals they don't always realise they are friends rather than prey. Due to his boisterous nature, and not a great deal of training, Rocky would be way too boisterous for primary school age and under children. Rocky is used to being an outside only dog, so if his new owners wished him to be an inside dog he will need toilet training. A secure yard is must to keep Rocky safe and plenty of environmental enrichment to keep him occupied when home alone.

Name:     Colour:   Brindle
Case No:    621630 Age:   18 Months
Breed:   Bull terrier X Sex:   Male
Grooming:   Low Size:   Medium- large
Exercise:

  Medium Training:

  High
  Description:

An energetic young man. He would suit someone who already walks regularly, and has had bull terriers or similar breeds before. He is very outgoing and loves to go places. Unfortunatley he gets just a little too enthusiastic on a lead and likes to drag you along. So he does need quite a bit of lead training, along with basic obedience and socialisation with other dogs and people. With training and exercise his walking on a lead should improve. When home alone he will need a very secure yard to keep him safe and environmental enrichment to keep him occupied.

Name:     Colour:   Brown and white

Breed:   Pomeranian X Sex:   Male
Grooming:   High Size:   Small
Exercise:

  Medium Training:

  Medium
  Description:

A sweet, quiet dog. He would be best suited to an older couple who want a dog who isn't too small or too big. In his new home he would be best suited as an inside dog, he will however need a little toilet training to settle into his new home. His thick coat will require regular brushing to stop it from geeting matted, and keep it looking healthy. For those occassions he is home alone he will need a secure backyard to keep him safe and plenty of environmental enrichment to keep him occupied.

Name:     Colour:   Cream
Case No:    621604 Age:   2 Years
Breed:   Pomeranian Sex:   Male
Grooming:   High Size:   Small
Exercise:

  Medium Training:

  Medium
  Description:

A quiet, sweet dog. He would be best suited to an older couple who want a small inside type of dog. In his new home he will need a little toilet training to help him settle in. He sometimes takes a little time to warm to strangers, and thus is not suitable for young children as they may not realise that he needs his own space. His thick coat will require regular brushing to stop it from geeting matted, and keep it looking healthy, and maybe the occassioanl clip. For those occassions he is home alone he will need a secure backyard to keep him safe and plenty of environmental enrichment to keep him occupied.

Name:   Jack Colour:   White and black
Case No:    621785 Age:   2.5 Years
Breed:   Greyhound Sex:   Male
Grooming:   Low Size:   Large
Exercise:

  Medium Training:

  Medium
  Description:

Jack is sweet young dog that has not experienced much of the world. He would love a new home where can be a part of the family, being inside lounging on a comfy bed when everyone is home, and slowly being introduced to new things outside the home by going places with his new owners. Jack will need a little bit of toilet training to help him settle into his new home. Greyhounds are couch potatoes by nature, however, like most dogs, they do require regular exercise as well. By law greyhounds have to be kept on lead when outside the confines of their home, and also have to wear a light weight wire muzzle. when Jack is out in the yard, or home alone he will require a securely fenced yard to keep him safe, and plenty of environmental enrichment to keep him happy.
