Help us raise awareness of puppy factories on September 18, as part of the International Puppy Factory Awareness Day. Similar rallies will occur in Sydney, Adelaide and overseas in the USA and UK.

The Melbourne rally organised is by Oscar's Law, with support from RSPCA Victoria and over 60 other animal welfare organisations.
The rally starts from 12.00 noon, with information and food stalls in Treasury Gardens 10am-4pm.

Why rally for puppy factories?

Many people don't realise that over 95% of pet shops are estimated to purchase their puppies via puppy factories. However the industry refuses to disclose where they obtain their puppies from.

All other products in a pet shop have the supplier’s details available.
What do pet shops have to hide? We encourage you to take the Pet Shop Challenge, and ask your local pet shop where they source their puppies from.

What will happen at the rally?

Join thousands of Australians who are taking a stance against puppy factories. This is your opportunity to lend your support, so we make it perfectly clear that the majority of Australians support animal welfare and want an end to puppy factories. On the day, you'll have the opportunity to:
  • Engage with various information and food stall, held after the rally at nearby Treasury Gardens.
  • Come and meet Victoria's leading dog rescue and animal welfare groups and learn more about how you can help stop this legalised cruelty.
  • Join the 74,000 Australians who have pledged their support to close puppy factories.
  • Take part in our Pet Shop Challenge and learn how you can use your consumer power to challenge the supply chain of puppy factories.
  • Join others at this family-friendly event, and meet like-minded people who care about animal welfare.
