RSPCA All Creatures Open Day
Sunday 16 March 2008
A fantastic day for all creatures
great and small!

Even with temperatures over 40 degrees, thousands of people turned out to
support the RSPCA’s All Creatures Open Day on Sunday March 16. It was great
to see so many people and their dogs join us for a hot but exciting day!
Celebrity guests ‘Patsy’ from Ab Fab and Mark Wilson from Channel 7’s
Dancing with the Stars together with MC’s ‘The Bachelors’ from Mix 101.1 FM
entertained the crowd with wonderful demonstrations and a fascinating range
of animals.
The family fun day included the birds of prey exhibit, wildlife and
reptile display. The fabulous Casterton Kelpie Association team impressed us
with their working dogs, and there were big crowds waiting to meet Lucy the
Pony from Channel 7’s RSPCA Animal Rescue as well as the RSPCA Inspectors.
The dog agility and obedience demonstrations were a huge hit with the crowds
as well. The pony rides, face painting and fairy floss were as popular as
always with the kids, and the Tyrrell’s wine tasting, food stalls, and dog
washes were popular with the parents!
The World Animal Day Raffle was presented to the three winners in the
main arena. We were delighted to announce that one of our long-standing
volunteers was the lucky winner of the Bib Stillwell main prize! For more
information click here.
The RSPCA says a big thank you to our celebrities, volunteers and members
of the community for making this a very successful day with all money being
directed to support RSPCA animal welfare programs.
Special thanks to our wonderful major sponsor Bib Stillwell BMW for their
continued support of the RSPCA. We also thank Pace Farms for providing the
barn laid eggs for our BBQ’s and Otway Pork for providing the free-range
sausages and bacon.
