Hi there, my name is Bugsy and
if you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an expression of interest form and a RSPCA staff member will contact you as soon as possible.
I am a big, solid TB gelding looking for the loving forever home I so truly deserve. I arrived at the RSPCA Shelter a few months ago with my friends and I was in extremely poor condition. I was so emaciated it was a little while before I was out of the woods and we knew I was going to pull through.
I was so depressed and zapped of energy when I arrived I would just stand around in the same spot all day - but now that I'm feeling (and looking) much better it's clear I have a real zest for life!
My personality has well and truly come out now, and I'm actually quite a cheeky and mischievous boy. I love stirring up my paddock mate to have a zoom around the paddock, especially at feed time. Did I mention I LOVE feed time?!
My name might imply that I'm small, but don't let that fool you. I am a big, chunky boy who would be suitable for a large adult. I am easy to handle, good for the farrier and stand quietly for you to put my rugs on at dinner time.
I can be cheeky though, this teamed up with my size means I do need an experienced, confident owner. I retired from racing in 2011 and I'm not sure if I have done anything since then. However, I think I will make a nice honest riding horse for someone who has the knowledge and experience to bring me back into work, or someone willing to send me off to a professional trainer for some further education. Mind you I am quite enjoying living the life of luxury just lazing around the paddock getting treats and cuddles so if you were after a companion horse only I'd definitely be up for the job!
I don't cope being by myself so I absolutely must go to a new home where I have at least one paddock buddy. If you think I sound like an ideal addition to your family, please submit an expression of interest for me and you can come and meet me!
I am desexed.
