Working hard at Warrnambool!

Here at our Warrnambool shelter we take our product testing very seriously!

Featured we have Cameron; our shelter supervisor, with the ever so cooperative "Tijuana" testing out an RSPCA "Snooza Buddy Bed" that we sell.

We take our testing to extreme levels of satisfaction for our Dogs .

Million Paws Walk 2007 - Look at all the fun we had!

Our annual Million Paws Walk was held this year on Sunday 20 May.  We had a great day and all funds raised will help all creatures great and small.

Faces of RSPCA Warrnambool

Rebecca started volunteering in August 2005. She says that the best part about volunteering is being able to see what goes on day in and day out whether it is a good day or a bad day.

She enjoys seeing what happens when an animal comes into the shelter in terms of finding their owners and she especially enjoys when the owners come straight down to the shelter

Ron has been Volunteering for approximately 4 years with us here in Warrnambool and he is of great support to the RSPCA.

Ron also acts as our resident handyman!

He loves our dogs and with his past experiences of being a farmer, he has an excellent working knowledge of dogs .

We hear in Warrnambool like to call him our
DOG WHISPER .

to collect their animals and are happy to see them alive and well.

Bec’s favourite dog that has come into the shelter was Brutus, the much neglected Maltese. She considers Brutus to be a dog that all of the staff and volunteers fell in love with.

She thinks that her boss is the best one around because he is funny and loves to share a joke. She especially likes the nicknames that he comes up with for her! She loves working at the RSPCA because of ALL the nicknames that everyone has thought of for her and the fact that we can all joke around, but still do our job seriously.

Some of the nicknames that she would like to share include “Feral Ralph”, “Raughnut” and “Becasauras”.

Bec is a great asset to the shelter and we thank her for her time and commitment.

About Warrnambool

The RSPCA Warrnambool shelter was officially opened in 1983. It provides pound services for stray animals located within the Warrnambool City Council area. In recent years the pound facilities have also provided accommodation for stray animals impounded by the Moyne Shire. The local RSPCA shelter provides care for more than 1,500 unwanted and stray animals each year.

RSPCA Inspectors within the region attend cruelty complaints received from the public. RSPCA Victoria receives more than 9,700 cruelty complaints each year and 46% are from regional Victoria.

Warrnambool Opportunity Shop

Since the opening of the shelter the Bargain Centre has provided financial support for the shelter animals, through the sale of second hand goods donated by the public. The friendly staff at the Warrnambool shop are always eager to help you find just what you are looking for. They even helped unite 2 Golden Retrievers with their owner recently, when the 2 dogs turned up at their shop. The dogs obviously knew where to go! Come in and have a browse and help us help the animals at the shelter.

To view the shop opening hours, please refer to the green panel on the right.
