RSPCA policies and position
papers
RSPCA policies are a collection of philosophical
statements issued by RSPCA Australia on the treatment of animals by humans.
The statements are adopted, or later amended, on the unanimous vote of the
RSPCA National Board following consultation with each state RSPCA.
RSPCA Australia position papers, guidelines and codes of practice are issued
by the RSPCA National Board as explanatory documents. They are adopted, or
later amended, on the majority vote of the RSPCA National Board. Policy
statements should therefore be read in conjunction with any relevant
position paper, guideline or code of practice.
The RSPCA policy and position papers focus on the welfare of
companion
animals,
farm
animals,
animals
used for sport and entertainment,
animal
research and experimentation,
wildlife,
the
transportation of animals,
humane
killing and a selection of other
miscellaneous animal welfare issues.
