RSPCA Portland RSPCA Portland opened in 1993. In October, 2006 RSPCA
Portland closed the old shelter in Orana Drive and relocated to a new
facility at Darts Road. RSPCA President Dr Hugh Wirth AM KSJ and
RSPCA Victoria Chief Executive Officer Maria Mercurio officially opened the new shelter with
the Minister for
Agriculture, The Hon Bob Cameron. RSPCA Inspectors within the Portland region investigate cruelty complaints reported by the community. RSPCA Victoria receives more than 14,400 cruelty complaints each year and 46% are from regional Victoria. Animal adoptions If you are looking for a new pet, RSPCA Portland have lots of dogs and cats needing loving new homes. Volunteering RSPCA Portland relies on the support of dedicated volunteers to help it care for all creatures great and small. Retail and op shop The RSPCA Portland shop is located in the centre of
town. All proceeds help support the Portland shelter. Our shop stocks
a wide range of items including pet accessories, beds and toys along with
donated second-hand goods. Come in for a browse or consider donating your time
or goods to an
RSPCA op shop.
