RSPCA Peninsula RSPCA Peninsula located in Pearcedale joined the
RSPCA in 1982 after operating as an independent shelter for 20 years. The
original aims of the shelter were very much aligned with the aims of the RSPCA and
led to the union of the shelter with our organisation. Since 1982 the shelter has seen
an increase in the need for their services and has invested in
infrastructure to improve the welfare of animals in the area. May 2004 saw the completion of the new cat quarantine building. The new building was a vast improvement on the previous three buildings that cat quarantine had occupied. With the new building better welfare outcomes have been achieved with a decrease in the spread of cat flu due to the inclusion of a cat isolation room, used to isolate sick cats from the healthy population of cats in quarantine. In the past year, RSPCA Peninsula has provided care to more than 7,184 stray and abandoned animals from the Mornington Peninsula region. At RSPCA Peninsula, one full-time inspector continues to investigate cruelty in the Mornington Peninsula region. The RSPCA Inspectors receives more than 14,400 cruelty complaints each year across Victoria. Animal adoptions If you are looking for a new pet, RSPCA Peninsula have lots of dogs, cats, guinea pigs and rabbits needing loving new homes.
