RSPCA Burwood East RSPCA Burwood East is our largest shelter, located in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. At Burwood East, our community services include our animal shelter, adoption centre, veterinary clinic, animal behaviour training, emergency ambulance service, Inspectorate, grooming and education centre. RSPCA Burwood East is also the head office of RSPCA Victoria. Animal adoptions If you are looking for a new pet, RSPCA Burwood East have lots of dogs, cats, guinea pigs and rabbits needing loving new homes. Shelter Our animal shelter offers many services including our RSPCA ambulance, shelter to stray and unwanted animals and pound services for some councils. Each year, more than 17,832 animals are cared for by our Burwood East and Epping shelters collectively. Learn more about the work of RSPCA Burwood East in the south eastern suburbs. We are also excited to reveal the next stage in plans for the RSPCA Burwood East site redevelopment which is largely funded by generous bequests from RSPCA supporters. Are your cupboards due for a clean out? RSPCA shelter animals would be very grateful for any old blankets or towels you could spare. Please bring all donations directly to our Burwood East Shelter. Veterinary clinic The RSPCA operates its main veterinary clinic in Burwood East. Services include a clinical practice, grooming, behavioural advice and training classes. In the past year, our Burwood East veterinary clinic team treated more than 5,653 shelter animals and 18,000 pets through our private clinic. Behaviour training Trust your pet with the expert animal behaviour training at RSPCA Burwood East. We operate regular pet information sessions that cost only $5 so you can understand why your pet's behaviour. We also stage regular dog and cat training and welcome you to phone us for advice if you need guidance with your pet.
Education services RSPCA Education is all about exciting hands-on learning. It brings students and animals together in enjoyable experiences that meet curriculum requirements while developing responsible and caring behaviour. Retail shop RSPCA Burwood East has a large retail shop to cater for all your pet's needs. We stock everything from pet accessories, pets health products to pet food including Hill's Science Diet. We also have qualified vet nurses available if you need guidance or advice. Proceeds from our retail shop are used to improve our animal welfare services and facilities. Opportunity shops Our two opportunity shops located in the
Burwood Heights Shopping Centre (opposite RSPCA Burwood East) help fundraise
to support the work of RSPCA shelters. If you are after quality
products for a bargain price, we might have just the thing you’re looking
for! The shops are staffed by dedicated volunteers and all funds
raised support RSPCA animal welfare services and education programs. Volunteering RSPCA Burwood East regularly requires the help of new volunteers.
