Bendigo Wish List
With all the animals going through our shelter there are a number of items that Bendigo is looking for. Donations of these items or any contributions towards these items are welcome:
Chest Freezer: To freeze bottles of water to
put into the dog and cat pens in order to keep them a bit cooler on very hot
days.
Dog & Cat Toys: We are constantly on the look
out for toys for our stray, unwanted and neglected pets in order to make
their stay with us a little brighter. Toys should be washable and able to be
disinfected. Rubber Balls, Rubber Bones, Kong's, Squeaky Toys and Frisbees
for the Dogs. Plastic Balls with bells, Run through Tunnels, things with
hidey holes and Kong's for the Cats & Kittens.
Cat Carry Cages: The RSPCA goes through a high
number of these as we are constantly transporting Cats & Kittens both around
the shelter and to the Vets.
Shade Sails: We need these in order to keep our
outdoor dog run areas sheltered and we are also looking to create an area
for our hard working volunteers and staff to have their break outside in a
sheltered spot if they wish.
New Leads: We go through a high number of dog
leads and are always looking for them.

Our Valuable Volunteers
Anne has been volunteering with us for about 12 months putting in
approximately 10 hours a week, she loves working with cats, she cleans their
pens and feeds them for us. Anne says she enjoys coming out
to the shelter and finds the work she puts in very satisfying and the
friendly staff great to work with. She is often found talking to cats
while she is working and has adopted two cats and three guinea pigs, also
her son Steven who volunteers here as well has adopted one of our
dogs. Anne's daughter Jacinta also spends time here as a volunteer. It is
great people like Anne and her kids that make a huge difference to the lives
of many of our stray and unwanted animals. Thank you Anne.
