RSPCA Bendigo Bendigo joined the RSPCA in 1977. The local RSPCA shelter provides care for more than 4,236 stray and abandoned animals each year. In 2009, we were delighted to open our new facility. The site development provides new facilities for dogs and cats as well as an upgraded food preparation area, veterinary treatment room and customer service area. Cats are now housed in buildings that are temperature controlled and enclosed, protecting them from the elements, while new dog adoption kennels face north, optimising natural light and creating a more enriching environment. Read more about the exciting new RSPCA Bendigo. An RSPCA Inspector is based in the Greater Bendigo region. More than 6% of the total cruelty complaints that RSPCA Victoria receives are from this local region. In the past year across Victoria, our Inspectors investigated more than 14,400 cases of reported animal cruelty.
